Are stock harley davidson 05 xlr 1200 sportster heads machinable?

i am looking to put bigger valves and a port and polish job for maximum air flo in my stock heads. if possible how big of a valve can i get in there. can i change the deck heigth for a little more compression. also plan on installing a healthy set of andrews cams if you were wondering. Is there anything else i should know?
