Who is your favourite mythological character and why?

Pyramus and Thisbe. It is the story of two teenagers that love each other but are not permitted to see one another. They agree to meet under a mulberry tree (at this time the fruit of mulberry trees were white). Thisbe arrived first. She was frightened by a lion with blood on his mouth and ran. When dropped her scarf and the lion got it. When Pyramus got there he saw the lion and thought it had killed Thisbe so he killed himself. Thisbe returned and seeing the body of her love, she also killed herself. I forgot which goddess it was but when she saw this she turned the fruit of the mulberry tree to red in remembrance of the young couple. (This is before Romeo and Juliet was written.)
