Question about how BAH works when you separate.?

My husband and me aren't getting along so we're separating and I'm moving back home. We were gonna try to stay married for awhile because we weren't sure that we wanted to jump into a divorce. I figured he'd move back into the barricks and I'd get the BAH back home. But I think he misunderstood them but apparently he won't be able to stay in the barricks if we're still married and the BAH will change to what cost of living would be in Oklahoma which isn't much and he'd be expected to live off of it. If that happens then we'll pretty much have to divorce because he can't afford to live off that. So is this true or will I get the BAH and he'll be able to live in the barricks? I'm so confused. Please help me. He's in Fort Wainwright if that helps.
